This section is dedicated to finding more ways of promoting our creative talents... yes, through competitions. Details of competitions you can enter will be listed here. If you come across any, pass the info on to me: sulthana@nypo.net, or at the NYPO discussion board so that I can put them down here for everybody to see. Plus, let us know if you win any!

East Thames Creative Writing Competition - 'Growing Up'
Fancy seeing your very own short story in print AND scooping two tickets to see a West End show of your choice, or experiencing celebrity VIP treatment on a Topshop/Topman shopping spree? Then pick up a pen and tell us, fact or fiction, what ‘Growing Up’ means to you.
You can make it funny, sad or super scary – but all we ask is that you write your story in less than 1,000 words (about 2 sides of A4 paper), send it to our judges by no later than 30th June and tell us whether you’re an adult (age 19 and over), an adult with learning disability, a young person (11-18) or a child (under 11).
The best entry under each of the 4 categories will win a £50 book token and the overall winner will get to choose a show or a shopping spree (prize value of £100) . Judges will also select their favourite stories to be turned into a book.
The judges’ decision will be final and no correspondence will be entered into. No cash alternatives will be offered.
Send your entry to:
Short Story Competition, Marketing & Communications, East Thames, 3 Tramway Avenue, Stratford, London E15 4PN.
